Choosing a Cartridge For Your Cricut

The Cricut cartridge series includes more than seventy-five different varieties, with new additions being added on regular basis.

There are so many on offer that you may find it difficult to choose. I find a good way to decide which cartridge is best, is to consider my own personality and scrapbooking tastes.

For example some scrapbookers have more of a flair for design, while others have a flair for creative wording.

Some prefer to illustrate their paper craft with cutout shapes, while others focus on creative captions and phrases.

If you particularly enjoy illustrating then you would most likely get the most from shape cartridges. If you enjoy working with words and fonts then you would love the Cricut font cartridges.

If you are designing for children or want that kid appeal Cricut provides a licensed character series, featuring popular kid's tv stars such as Sesame Street and Hello Kitty. There are also fun Disney-inspired cartridges, including Mickey and Friends, Winnie the Pooh, Pixar Cars, Tinker Bell and more.

If you can't afford the average $90 to $100 price of a cartridge then the Solutions Cricut cartridge line may appeal to you. At a very attractive retail price of $49.99, these cartridges are great if you're scrapbooking on a tight budget. Many brick and mortar craft stores, as well as online shops - especially eBay - often have special cartridge sales, where you can pick up a bargain.

If you are a school teacher, you will be interested in the Classmate series which is specially made for classroom activity, and is a great way to encourage creativity in your kids.
