I have bought lots of stuff from eBay sellers over the years, and have never had a problem with the quality of goods received. Most Cricut dealers on eBay are professional businesses. Sellers are happy to answer your questions, and most of them are highly trustworthy. The eBay customer feedback system has weeded out any dubious sellers. Here are a few things you should bear in mind, to ensure a great deal with your Cricut machine.

1. If the seller does not clearly state the condition of the machine in their description, politely ask if the machine has any defects or "missing pieces", or find a more professional seller with a similar machine.

2. There will often be a short-term warranty or "returns policy" in the item description page, giving you the right to return the Cricut should anything go wrong. If such is missing, I would look for a different seller - there is always lots to choose from. However, if you think you have spotted a great deal, without the warranty, email the seller and they may well offer you a warranty in return.

3. If you buy the Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter in a store a range of accessories would be included: George cartridge, cutting mat, cutting housing and blade, cord, USB cable, and instruction manual. The seller will usually tell you in their item description what is included with the Cricut machine. If you are unsure about the accessories, you can email them to find out more. It may not be worth buying the machine if accessories are missing.

4. When you look at Ebay listings of Cricut supplies you will see that shipping or postage and packing costs appear next to the cost of the goods. You can compare the shipping charges of different sellers for the same item - there can often be a considerable difference. Add the shipping cost to the item cost, and see if you are still getting a good deal.

5. Shipping insurance will probably be included in the online purchase of a Cricut machine, to give you cover in the unlikely event of damage during delivery. Make sure it is included, even if you have to pay a little more for it.

In reality, most sellers of Cricut machines on eBay will be very professional with a high customer feedback rating. You really have little to worry about. The trick is to only buy from a seller if you have total confidence in their description and terms and conditions. You can trust most eBay sellers as though they were a store in your local shopping mall - in some cases, more so!
