At first glance the Expression looks more like a photo printer, but it's main purpose is to help you cut out unique designs to use for scrapbooking projects.

It can create shapes between 1/8th and 24 inches - perfect for crafters who want total control. Cricut will work with practically any paper you can throw at it: card stock, vellum, chipboard etc.

It is also a lightweight machine, letting you carry it to a scrapbooking party. If you need to travel a long way with Cricut there are carrying cases you can buy. These padded cases are very handy, and the wheels make it easy to transport.

The best thing about Expression is you don't really need a computer to make great designs. This is thanks to the special cartridges you insert into the machine, just as though you were watching a DVD or video. These cartridges hold all the information that the machine needs to produce the different shapes and styles. Beside the cartridge you get with the Expression, there a more than 75 cartridges sold separately. Each is loaded with different fonts and shapes. The possibilities are endless!

Although you can make beautiful scrapbooks without the aid of a computer, there is software available called 'Sure Cuts A Lot' that lets you design unique patterns, shapes, and fonts. With a little practice, you can come up with stunning designs, and let Cricut do the rest of the work.

If you are wondering that using a machine would waste paper, don't worry. The Expression is designed to use as much of each piece of paper as possible.

I forgot to mention that it can also cut vinyl up to 24 inches. With this feature you could make "wall words" or "sayings" for instance. And Cricut doesn't stop there - it lets you make stunning etched glass designs.

There really is no limit to the possibilities. Whether you are an avid scrapbook maker or someone looking to take up a new hobby, you will love the Cricut Expression.
